Alona is developing a broad civil litigation practice in all aspects of insurance defence, including claims arising out of motor vehicle accidents, personal injury, occupiers’ liability, property damage and subrogation.
Alona holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Ukrainian State University of Finance and International Trade in Kyiv, Ukraine, and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Windsor, obtained in 2019. During her academic journey at Windsor Law School, she won the prestigious 44th Annual Zuber Moot competition, emerging as the top oralist.
She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020. Prior to joining Zuber and Company LLP, she worked at a busy personal injury law firm, where she advocated for plaintiffs in a wide range of claims, including motor vehicle accidents, occupiers’ liability, medical negligence, and long-term disability.
Aside from her practice as a lawyer, she is passionate about sharing her professional knowledge and experience in academic settings. Alona has been working as a law professor at Seneca Polytechnic, teaching a civil litigation and personal injury course.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Alona is passionate about culinary arts, often indulging in cooking for friends and family. She also has a keen interest in travel, eagerly exploring different cultures and cuisines around the world.
