Marcella Smit

Marcella is a partner with Zuber & Company LLP who practices insurance defence law with a focus on personal injury, occupiers’ liability, and insurance coverage litigation. She advocates on behalf of clients to achieve excellent results, as expeditiously as possible.

Prior to joining Zuber & Company in 2011, Marcella practiced at a leading insurance defence law firm in London, Ontario. In 2002, she graduated from Western Law School with a joint law degree from Laval University. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003. She also has an Honour’s Bachelor of Arts degree in French Literature and Language from Western University.

Marcella is a member of The Advocate’s Society and Canadian Defence Lawyers. She grew up in Chatham, Ontario. She speaks fluent French and Dutch, and continues to expand her interest in languages. In her free time, she enjoys painting, swimming, biking, yoga, and family time at the cottage.
